Web Site Update September 5, 2013 Meeting

cealogoThanks to everyone who came out for the meeting at the Trademark in Lombard on September 5th. Attendance was a packed house for this event, which made it a very enjoyable evening for all the members.

We had a moment of Silence for Gary Schreiber who passed away suddenly after our annual golf outing in August.

There was a presentation given by Teresa Witham Executive Director of the NAEC, and Mark Yako of GAL Manufacturing.

The topic was on what the NAEC does for it’s members. Teresa’s insight on the NAEC programs CET, CAT, Spring conference, and the Fall convention, were appreciated by all the members in attendance. Everyone left this meeting with a clearer understanding of how the NAEC services its membership. There were two free trips raffled off after her presentation. Urban Elevator won the 2014 fall convention, and our newest member ECS won the 2014 spring conference. Both prizes came with full registration and Hotel accommodations for the events.

Mark gave us all a great presentation on what is happening with GAL manufacturing. His knowledge of what we all should be looking for with the new codes left us all with a better understanding of what we should make sure is included in our elevator equipment.

October’s meeting EMS will be presenting on their elevator freight door equipment. Mark your calendars for the next meeting on October 3rd at the Trademark in Lombard.

Chicago Cruise Another Success!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Chicago Cruise this year. Not only did we sell out the boat but with the additional Blackhawks Jersey Raffle, compliments of Adams Elevator, we raised some serious money for the foundation. Also congratulations to Glenn Duncan for winning the jersey!

Next year we will be looking for a new boat and we encourage everyone to get their tickets early as we actually had to turn people away. Once again, thank you to the sponsors and to the attendees. It was a blast and we look forward to doing it next year.

Enjoy the photos taken by Dick Gregory, Vertex Corporation.

CEA Annual Golf Outing August 2nd, 2013

Microsoft Word - CEAPressReleaseGOLF2013.doc

The Chicago Elevator Association (CEA) held their annual golf outing at the Gleneagles Country Club to benefit the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation (EESF). The event had a great day for the outing with plenty of sunshine for the golfers. All of the attendees were winners at this year’s charity event. A delicious dinner was provided to the attendees following the outing. The world class raffle with the industries finest prizes kept all the attendees in smiles.

The event had a 50/50 drawing for the EESF. The CEA would like to Thank Brad Hunt of the Peelle Company for helping with the collection of $1,400.00 dollars for the drawing. This years EESF charity event was a huge success. The CEA Golf Committee almost doubled the money raised from last years outing, and will be giving $3000.00 dollars to the EESF to further their mission.

The CEA would also like to thank our golf outing Committee. Glenn Duncan, Tom Przybyla, and Gary Schreiber all from Parts Specialists, Inc. The golf outing was only successful due to the support of the sponsors. We wish to say Thank You.
