Thanks to everyone who came out for the meeting at Tuscano’s in Schiller Park on November 6th. Attendance was a packed house for this event, which made it a very enjoyable evening for all the members.

There was a presentation given by Elizabeth Scanlan, Director of Code Development, Department of Buildings, from the City of Chicago.

The topic was on the city’s AIC program. Beth’s insight on the programs elevator equipment Certificates, Inspections, Codes, Permits, and the programs knowledge, were appreciated by all the members in attendance. Everyone left this meeting with a clearer understanding of how the City of Chicago’s annual inspection program is progressing.

There was a special video message sent to the CEA from Felicia Davis the Commissioner of Buildings for the City of Chicago. She was sorry she could not attend the meeting in person, liked she had planned. Through the video she was able to send a message to the CEA members, the City’s direction with enforcing the up coming inspections. It was nice to see the City’s positive attitude towards getting information spread to our members.

CEA elections were accomplished at this meeting. The following are the new officers. President Cornelius Walls, Vice President Chris Nowakowski, and Secretary/ Treasurer Tom Przybyla. Thank You for volunteering.

December 3rd is our Annual Christmas Party, and it is going to be at a new location this year. Dana Hotel and Spa 600 North State Street, Chicago brings the party to downtown. Mark your calendars you will not want to miss this event.
