CEA May Meeting Recap

Thanks to everyone who came out for the meeting at Champps in Lombard on May 1st. Attendance was a packed house for this event, which made it a very enjoyable evening for all the members

There was a presentation given by Dotty Stanlaske, Executive Director of National Association of Elevator Safety Authorities International from Turnwater Washington.

The topic was on the NAESA Qualified Elevator Inspector programs and certification. Dotty’s insight on the new Certification process, and the programs knowledge, were appreciated by all the members in attendance. Everyone left this meeting with a clearer understanding of how NAESA’s certification program is progressing.

The Code committee reported on the status of the State of Illinois, and the City of Chicago and it was very nice to hear the positive outlook from the past couple months..

April CEA Meeting Recap

Thanks to everyone who came out for the meeting at the Goose Island Brewery in Chicago on April 4th. Attendance was good, which made it a very enjoyable evening for all the members. If you have not seen the new CEA meeting news letter click this link CEA-APRIL-2013-News to download a copy.

There was a great presentation given by Tom Przybyla of Parts Specialists Inc. The topic was on their Lincoln elevator telephone equipment. Tom’s insight on Elevator Communication equipment, Codes, ADA, Trouble Shooting, and Product knowledge was appreciated by all the members in attendance. Everyone left this meeting with a better understanding of how important the elevator telephone is to our unfortunate stuck passengers.

John Willis from John R. Willis Company, Arlington Heights, Illinois was present and his company is the newest Chicago Elevator Association Member. Welcome John and thanks for coming to the meeting.

We had a special give away at this months meeting. A BIG Thank You to Gleneagles Country Club. They furnished the CEA a gift certificate for a Foursome with motorized carts to play golf. The Lucky winner was John Willis. His first ever meeting and he took home the prize.

May’s meeting GAL will be presenting on their elevator equipment.  You don’t want to miss this world class presentation.

Mark your calendars for the next months meeting on May 2nd at the Trademark in Lombard.

March 2013 Meeting Recap

Thanks to everyone who came out for the meeting at the Trademark Tavern in Lombard. We hope you enjoy the new locations we’re holding the meetings at. Just as a reminder Joe Donnelly’s power point presentation from February’s meeting is online and in the members area page. If you are a member and would like to download it please contact us and we will send you the password to do so.

There were some great discussions during the meeting, included getting presenters that have their programs approved for continuing education credits come and present.  Also, the possibility of trying to create another fundraiser for the EESF and creating a $500 student/college scholarship to anyone affiliated with the trade was also brought up. It’s nice to see members share their ideas on where they’d like to see the direction of the association go. So keep those ideas coming.

Tim Steele from Elevator Cab Renovations, Ottawa Canada was present and his company was voted in as the newest Chicago Elevator Association Member. Welcome Tim and thanks for coming down to the meeting.

April’s month Parts Specialists will be presenting on their telephones and the location is yet to be determined. However save April 4th for the next meeting.
